Spanish soccer giants Barcelona are keen on signing another rising star from ajax, as per reports. The Catalan side recently snapped up one of the highest rated youngsters Frankie De Jong from the Dutch side. Now they want the skipper Matthijs de Ligt to join this summer.
The player himself is keen on joining the team considering the sporting project at Camp Nou. There are higher personal offers from interested sides such as Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Premier League teams.The club spent €86mto land De Jong, and they are confident that it would influence De Ligt to join.
Coach Ernesto Valverde is aware of the competition Real and Atletico Madrid would bring next season as they have started reworking their strategies. Zinedine Zidane returned to the club on Monday as permanent replacement following the severed ties with Santiago Solari.
Valverde said he looked forward to facing Zidane in El Clasico rivalries. He is well aware of the opportunities Barcelona have to land another European title especially with Real and PSG already out.
